Auzion, the Sustainable Energy Experts, are
supporting homeowners who missed out on the
Federal Government’s solar rebate, by stepping
in with their own grant that means customers
won’t pay more.
Auzion managing director Mark Leckenby said
while the industry and homeowners were
surprised by announcement on June 9, that the
Government was transferring to the new Solar
Credit Scheme immediately instead of on June 30
as expected, Auzion was committed to ensuring
those who wanted to adopt solar power
could.
“We want to support the Government in the
transition to the new scheme, which is due to
be considered by Parliament as part of the
Renewable Energy Target (RET) legislation in
August so we are offering our own rebate on any
systems we sign up from June 10, subject to the
passage of the RET legislation,” Mr Leckenby
said.
Mr Leckenby said the new Solar Credit Scheme
had some benefits compared with the old
rebate.
“The $100k maximum income threshold has been
lifted on solar credits so many more are
eligible and the delays created by the rebate
application process will be eliminated,” he
said.
A solar PV system in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide,
Brisbane or Canberra will receive $5,150 for a
1 kW system and $7,750 for a 1.5 kW system
installed in 2009, based on a $50 REC price.
Further information on the new RECs sceme can
be found at http://www.climatechange.gov.au/renewabletarget/publications/pubs/solar_credits-fs.pdf
“We are passionate about sustainability so we
want to create a simple way for people in a
fast-paced world to make a difference without
the inconvenience that is often associated with
being ‘sustainable’ or ‘green’”
“Lots of people have expressed an interest with
us in installing a solar system and while we
were able to process and lodge more than 120
applications for the old rebate on June 9 when
the Government announced rebate applications
were closing the same day, there were still
many people who missed out”
Mr Leckenby said that was why until August or
the new RET legislation is passed, Auzion are
offering their own rebate of $2000 on a fully
installed 1.4KW, which added to Solar Credit
Scheme (following the passage of the
legislation) would mean the cost to
householders will be just $3995.
“All people will pay upfront is $195, with an
option to pay the balance via a green loan,
with energy savings people will get offsetting
the loan repayments,” Mr Leckenby said.
“Our solar 1.4KW photovoltaic grid connect
system saves home owners on average about 25%
of their energy costs, which makes it possible
to recoup their initial out-of-pocket
investment on these systems within five
years”
“Not only that, they will then continue to reap
savings on the system, and know they have made
a meaningful contribution in terms of
environmental conservation and
sustainability.”
He said already Auzion customers had reported
they had received a cheque from their energy
providers instead of a bill.
Mr Leckenby said Auzion was dedicated to
ongoing research and development and would be
unveiling a new product soon that would save
their customers even more.
Our AUZiMAX will enable people to maximise
their energy efficiency and potentially double
the savings they get from their solar systems,”
he said.
The AUZiMAX is an optional add-on to the system
that will cost just $295 to existing
customers. It will be unveiled at the
World Environment Day Festival at the
University of the Sunshine Coast, on 28
June.
