Auzion teams up with University of the Sunshine Coast to drive sustainable living

Auzion are teaming up with the University of the Sunshine Coast Sustainability Research Centre to take a closer look at the motivators of people who invest in sustainable technology.

Auzion founder Mark Leckenby said they were very excited about the pilot project being developed by the Sustainability Research Centre.

Centre director Professor Tim Smith said the university’s mission statement encourages sustainability and regional engagement so they were delighted to be working with Auzion.

He said the Centre, which includes almost forty researchers working across all university faculties, dealt with issues including climate change, coastal management, sustainable tourism, natural and cultural heritage, education for sustainability, and the development of the environmental and technology services sector (ET&S).

Mr Smith said the pilot project would examine the motivations and preferences of people purchasing and taking up sustainable technology.

“Our project with Auzion is in its early stages but we hope our research will enhance the uptake of sustainability technologies on the Sunshine Coast,” Prof Smith said.

“Companies likes Auzion are critical to creating a knowledge industry on the Sunshine Coast and allows us to reach our sustainability goals for the regions.”
